Edmond Nazaryan was finally dropped from the squad for the last Olympic qualification in Istanbul. The two-time European champion is still suffering from an old injury.

Thus, in the category up to 60 kg of the classical style, Nedyalko Petrov, fifth in the European men’s competition in 2018, will appear.

Kaloyan Ivanov will also make his debut at a similar forum, who will start in the 97 kg category vacated by Kiril Milov.

Ayk Mnatsakanyan, third in the world and in Europe, returns to the mat at 77 kg.

And Abu Muslim Amaev, a two-time bronze medalist from the European championships, will compete in the 67-kilogram category.

Georgi Ivanov, who at the previous qualification in Baku in April, made his debut in the classics, but failed to win a quota, will compete in the freestyle in the heavyweight category up to 125 kg. Earlier this season, the European under-23 champion became the first at “Dan Kolov” and won the gold belt.

In the 74-kilogram category, Ramazan Ramazanov, third in the world and second in Europe, will start, and in the upper category up to 86 kg, his brother Magomed Ramazanov, who has been competing for Bulgaria since this season, will compete.

In their categories, the experienced Georgi Vangelov (57 kg), fifth at the Tokyo 2020 Games, and Mikiai Naim, European vice-champion and holder of the “Dan Kolov” gold belt from 2021, will attack the Olympic quotas.

In the women’s category, Yuliana Yaneva will make her debut in the category up to 76 kg, which is higher for her. Last year, she became the European champion in the 68-kilogram category, and won the world cup in the 72-kilogram category in 2020.

Mimi Hristova will make another attempt to get a visa in the category up to 68 kg.

Evelina Nikolova, Olympic bronze medalist, will compete in the 57-kilogram category, and Miglena Selishka, #1 in Europe since 2020, will compete in the lightest category up to 50 kg.

The first three in each category take quotas, and there will be an additional meeting between the two bronze medalists.

There will be two Bulgarian judges at the tournament – Dimitar Chifudov and Nedyalko Kireziev.

The draw will be made on Wednesday.

The competition begins on Thursday with the men’s classics.
