According to the industry on the 8th, AliExpress recently changed its procedures to require consent to ‘overseas transfer of personal information’ when paying for products.
The personal information specified by AliExpress includes everything from buyer information such as name and contact information to sensitive items such as bank account information, payment information, and card number.
If you agree to the relevant items, your personal information will be provided to Chinese sellers as well as Ali Express’ Chinese overseas consignment companies such as ‘Cathay Insurance Company’ and ‘ZhongAn Online P&C Insurance’.

If unfair terms and conditions are discovered in this investigation, the Fair Trade Commission plans to request voluntarily correction from AliExpress and Temu.
In addition, we are also investigating allegations of false and exaggerated advertising and violation of consumer protection obligations by Chinese e-commerce companies.
Previously, the Personal Information Protection Committee also began an investigation into the collection and processing of personal information by overseas e-commerce companies, including those in China. The results are scheduled to be announced as early as the first half of the year.
