Women’s World Cup 2023: Arrival in Casablanca of the delegation of the Moroccan national team
Casablanca – The delegation of the Moroccan women’s national team arrived Thursday at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, from Australia, where it signed a historic participation in the World Cup.
Upon arrival at the airport, the Moroccan delegation was welcomed by the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, and members of the Federation’s steering committee.
The members of the national selection received a warm welcome from an enthusiastic crowd who came to express their admiration and pride in the performance of the Atlas Lionesses who reached the round of 16 in their first participation in a World Cup.
Morocco, the first Arab nation to compete in the Women’s World Cup and reach the 2nd round, commanded respect during this global meeting, after standing up to seasoned selections in these games.
Thanks to two victories in a row against South Korea and Colombia, finalists of the Asian Cup and Copa America respectively, the Moroccan players obtained six points in three matches, to qualify for the round of 16 as as second in Group H, behind Colombia.
