The General Assembly of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation elected the President of the Iraqi Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Mukhles Hassan, as Vice-President of the Continental Federation.
Hassan said in a statement received by the (INA), today, Monday: “Winning the Continental Union elections represents a great responsibility, and we will work together to advance the sport of jiu-jitsu at the Asian level,” adding that “the victory achieved for Iraq in the elections is clear evidence of the success of the sport.” We worked, and I will be keen to exploit my position in the Continental Federation to serve the people of the game.”
Hassan’s election came by acclamation after the withdrawal of his Bahraini competitor, during the electoral conference held in the United Arab Emirates in the presence of thirty members representing the General Authority of the Asian Confederation. Mukhles Hassan was also elected president of the West Asian Football Federation, and the elections resulted in the victory of the Emirati Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi as president of the federation. Asian, while Emirati Fahd Al Shamsi received the position of Secretary-General.
