Thu, 10:15·Apple TV·imjApple TV+ is a relatively young streaming service and primarily relies on in-house productions. In order for potential audiences to find out about new films and series on the platform, Apple has to drum up a lot of advertising. Now Ricky Strauss, who was specifically hired for this purpose, is leaving his position as Chief of Apple TV Marketing after less than a year and a half. He previously worked at Disney for over nine years; Among other things, he was responsible for content, programming and marketing for the streaming services Disney + and Hulu.

At Apple, he was responsible for the advertising campaigns surrounding the films and series of Apple’s streaming offering, reports Variety, which has received confirmation of his departure from Apple’s press department. He is now said to be looking for new creative challenges. His boss was Tor Myrhen, Apple’s vice president of marketing communications. It is unclear who will replace him. Hollywood decision-makers apparently find it difficult to gain a foothold at Apple: JP Richards, who had a total of 18 years of experience at Universal and Warner and was hired as Head of Global Film Marketing in 2021, was off board after 13 months. Since then he has been working at Lionsgate, another “classic” film studio.

For lack of evidence: launch on June 12th
A star-studded miniseries is launching on Apple TV+ this early summer: “Presumed Innocent” is based on the crime novel of the same name by Scott Turow, which was published in German under the title “For Lack of Evidence”. In the eight-part series, a Chicago prosecutor must defend himself against charges of murder. Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the series, which is produced by David E. Kelley. He has decades of experience on courtroom dramas such as Ally McBeal and Boston Legal; In recent years he has been responsible for, among other things, the HBO miniseries “The Undoing” and the Netflix series “Anatomy of a Scandal”. The teaser published on YouTube gives a foretaste of the series. The first two episodes will go online on June 12th, followed by further episodes every week on Wednesdays until the finale on July 24th.
