Apple updates iPad Air with new screen size and M2 chip

by time news

The previous generation iPad Air was launched two years ago, in 2022. And now Apple is ready with an update. At today’s Apple event, the American company launched a new version of the popular tablet, this time with Apple’s own M2 processor and in versions with 11″ and 13″ Liquid Retina screens.

The M2 chip is familiar from last year’s MacBook Air models, and Apple promises that the new iPad Air models will be 50% faster than its predecessor thanks to the new processor.

Like the 2022 iPad Air, the new iPad Air models come with a 12 Mp front camera that supports “In Focus“, a feature that uses artificial intelligence to use the new front camera to follow the speaker when having video meetings at work or talking to grandparents via FaceTime, Skype or Zoom.

But the new thing this time is that the camera sits on the long side of the screen edge, so that the lens is placed in the middle when the tablet is held horizontally.

Other small updates are that new iPad Air models support Wi-Fi 6E, in addition to the fact that the tablets are now available in four different variants for built-in memory: 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB.

The new iPad Air models naturally still have support for the Magic Keyboard as well as the Apple Pencil and the recently launched Apple Pencil Pro.

Price and availability

The 11-inch iPad Air costs from DKK 8,490 for the Wi-Fi model and DKK 10,590 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The 13-inch iPad Air costs from DKK 11,290 for the Wi-Fi model and DKK 13,390 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
The new product can be ordered now and will be available next week.
