During an official event in Ciudad Bolívar, Bogotá, focused on community participation under the motto of “Government with the neighborhoods”, Vice President Francia Márquez did not avoid the harsh reality of the corruption scandals that have shaken the country, especially in the context of the investigations into alleged acts of theft and bribery within the National Unit for Risk and Disaster Management (Ungrd), related to the purchase of tank trucks for La Guajira.
In his speech, Márquez expressed his firm rejection of those who take advantage of their positions for personal benefit at the expense of the Colombian people. He stressed that the commitment assumed when entering the government is to serve the people and tirelessly fight corruption.

Regarding the ongoing investigations, the vice president did not hesitate to emphasize: “As vice president I cannot stop expressing myself and expressing my rejection of those who believe that they can come to this Government to steal and do whatever they want with the rights of the people.” Márquez also recalled the fundamental principles that motivated her entry into the government, highlighting the commitment to fight corruption and work for the well-being of the country.
In his speech, Márquez emphasized the importance of honoring the commitment made to the Colombian people, urging all public officials to follow the same path of integrity and service to the community. “Those who believe that they are going to continue here robbing the people, I believe they are in the wrong place and they have to leave,” said the vice president.
Finally, Márquez reiterated his commitment and that of President Gustavo Petro to restore dignity to the Colombian people and fight tirelessly against corruption. His message resonated with the same slogan that citizens supported in the presidential elections: “Until dignity becomes customary for all Colombians.”
