jpnn.comJAKARTA – Witness in the case of the Minister of Agriculture for the 2019-2023 period, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Hermanto, revealed that SYL paid the salary of the housemaid in the amount of IDR 35 million from joint money from employees of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).
Hermanto, who is also Secretary of the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that initially he was asked to pay the SYL assistant’s salary using personal money.
However, after that it was replaced using cash from employees at the Ministry of Agriculture.
“I was asked to first transfer IDR 35 million. However, Mr Lukman then replaced it with the money left over from the employee’s contribution for sacrifice amounting to IDR 360 million,” said Hermanto during a witness examination at the Jakarta Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor), Wednesday.
Hermanto said that the SYL assistant’s salary was transferred twice to an account in Theresia’s name, namely IDR 22 million and IDR 13 million.
He explained that Theresia was a maid who worked at SYL’s house in Makassar.
The payment of salaries for SYL assistants, he said, was based on directions from the Director General of PSP, Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Jamil. At that time, the request for the transfer of the SYL assistant’s salary was very urgent and had to be paid immediately.
“It was very urgent and requested at sunset. It had to be transferred right away, that’s why I was asked to pay using personal money first,” he said.
