An unexpected blackout at the “Conrado Benítez” Cancer Hospital, in the province of Santiago de Cuba, left patients and staff without electricity since 7:30 pm on Wednesday.

The lack of electricity caused activities to be carried out under the light of mobile phone flashlights, revealing a critical situation at the health center.

“I receive this complaint from patients and companions who are at the ‘Conrado Benítez’ Oncological Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, where at 7:30 this Wednesday night, they report that they do not have electricity,” Yosmany Mayeta Labrada reported on Facebook.

The testimonies indicate that the power plant or the generating set does not have the necessary oil for its operation, which caused this “complete blackout”, another one that occurs in Santiago de Cuba.

In the comments section, some mentioned that electricity was restored hours later, although they continued to express their concern about the situation.

“I’m from the area and they already put it in at 9. The truth is that we have never suffered this situation of blackouts due to the hospital plant, but a few days ago they are removing it quite a bit, sometimes it is 3 or 4 hours and yesterday it was only 1.30 minutes and today it hadn’t left all day until 7 pm and they put it on at 9 pm,” shared a citizen.

Another user recalled previous problems with the power plant: “Since my father was admitted (and he has been dead for a year and a half now) the plant already had problems, radiation could not be given when there was no power because it consumed a lot and overloaded the generating set that was already damaged and had problems. . “I don’t even want to imagine what it will be like now.”.

Unfortunately, the wave of blackouts across the island affects everyone equally, including children, pregnant women, and the sick.

Meanwhile, the regime authorities continue to give themselves every possible luxury, shamelessly mocking the people.
