More than 12,000 schoolchildren will visit the Sofia Science Festival, where they will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the activities of scientists and researchers from Bulgaria and 10 other countries from three continents. The festival was opened today in Sofia Tech Park by the Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov. The mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, was among the official guests. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

“I hope that among the hundreds of children who will visit the stands at the festival, there are future researchers, scientists and Nobel laureates of Bulgaria. Today, the future of Bulgaria is here,” said Minister Tsokov. He congratulated the organizers of the event and for the highlights of the festival, one of which is quantum computers – an extremely important topic for modern science, applied science and innovation. “You show how science can to be beautiful, and at the same time to be accessible to children and students, which is most important,” Minister Tsokov addressed the organizers of the festival from the “Beautiful Science” Foundation.

He noted that both young and established researchers from various universities and scientific institutes in Bulgaria participate in the event. According to him, the Ministry of Education and Science supports various scientific projects and the construction of scientific infrastructure, for which an average of 100 million BGN is allocated annually.

The Sofia Science Festival continues until May 12. In the halls of Sofia Tech Park, over 240 scientists from Bulgaria, Austria, Belgium, Spain, China, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, France and the USA will present their activities.
