“The Kingdom of Eswatini also considers the autonomy plan presented by Morocco in 2007 as the only solution” for the resolution of the regional dispute around the Moroccan Sahara, indicated Ms. Shakantu, in a statement to the press at the end of his meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the High Level Ministerial Conference on Middle-Income Countries.

In this regard, she recalled the opening in 2020 of a consulate general of the Kingdom of Eswatini in Laayoune.

Ms. Shakantu also welcomed the excellence of the “long-standing fraternal relations” existing between the two monarchies and the two peoples, welcoming Morocco’s support to her country in terms of granting scholarships. in medicine, legal studies and other technical specialties.

“We have stressed the need to raise bilateral cooperation to a higher level, and we are working towards the upcoming holding of the Trade and Cooperation Committee before the end of the year,” noted the head of diplomacy of the Eswatini.

The High-Level Ministerial Conference on Middle-Income Countries was held Monday and Tuesday in Rabat, with the participation of 32 countries, many of them represented at ministerial level, and 23 United Nations development agencies and other international institutions and regional.

Placed under the theme “Solution to the development challenges of Middle-Income Countries in a changing world”, this high-level Ministerial Conference is part of the Presidency of the Kingdom of Morocco of the Group of Friends of Middle-Income Countries within the framework of the United Nations, which he has held since 2023, and in the continuity of his advocacy in favor of the interests of developing countries, under the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in favor of an active and united.
