jpnn.com – Nintendo is preparing to present the successor console to the Nintendo Switch. The plan is this year or before March 2025 at the latest.
This was stated directly by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa in his upload on the X social network.
“We will make an announcement about the successor to the Nintendo Switch in this fiscal year. It has been more than nine years since we announced the appearance of the Nintendo Switch in March 2015,” wrote Furukawa on his X account, @NintendoCoLtd.
He added that Nintendo would not reveal details about the successor to the Nintendo Switch at the Nintendo Direct event next June.
The event will focus on introducing a series of new games for the Nintendo Switch console which will be released in the second half of 2024.
This means that Nintendo lovers around the world have to be patient with the latest console.
“We will be holding a Nintendo Direct this June announcing the software lineup for the Nintendo Switch for the second half of 2024, but please be aware that a successor to the Nintendo Switch will not be mentioned during that presentation,” Furukawa wrote.
As of March 2024, the Nintendo Switch console has sold 141 million units worldwide, making it the third best-selling game console to date after the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS.
