jpnn.comJAKARTA – Musicians from New York City, The Drums will hold a concert at Bengkel Space, Jakarta tonight, Thursday (9/5).
The concert, entitled The Drums Asia Tour 2024: Live in Jakarta, was promoted by Plainsong Live, which recently successfully held the Joyland Festival Bali.
The Drums can finally greet fans in Indonesia after canceling their concerts twice in the last ten years.
“We had already made a contract with The Drums for Joyland Festival Jakarta 2020. Unfortunately at that time there was a pandemic. In early 2024, The Drums informed us about plans for The Drums Asia Tour 2024. Of course we welcomed it,” said Ferry Dermawan, Plainsong Live Program Director, in an official statement, recently.
The Drums entered the world of alternative pop over fifteen years ago with the EP Summertime!.
Operating as Jonathan Pierce’s solo project, The Drums blend surf, experimental rock and electronic influences with sentimental songwriting.
The fusion of Factory Records style inspiration and 1950s surfing on happy-go-lucky debut single Let’s Go Surfing (2009) and self-titled debut album (2010) made The Drums one of the most talked about kinetic indie pop bands.
Since forming in 2008, The Drums have continued to develop, influence and reinvent their music over a series of six albums.
