I am optimistic that those people who are currently being laid off in the “Maritsa-East” complex will quickly find work, because they are highly qualified. This was said by the Acting Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Ivaylo Ivanov, before the start of the organized meeting between workers from the “ConturGlobal Maritsa East 3” TPP, who have been served notices of redundancies, and employers from the region. He pointed out that there is a need for labor in the region.
“I am convinced that on the basis of the efforts we are making together with the unions, in a very short time they will find a job, and in the territory of the district, since there is a shortage of personnel in the companies that work in the Stara Zagora district.” explained the minister. And he emphasized that it is important to think about the others working in the sector in the district, because they are not few. “At the moment, things have been postponed for a year, but this does not reassure us, because we have to prepare everything else to move forward,” he added.
From Ivanov’s words, it became known that together with the two trade unions KT “Support” and KNSB have a project, which is the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. According to it, an assessment will be made of all 15,100 people working in the field of energy in the districts of Stara Zagora, Kyustendil and Pernik – for their qualities, expectations, for their future realization.
“In order to be ready by the end of the year, after carrying out this assessment, to see what measures and programs should be drawn up, what we can do together,” Ivanov told BTA. He pointed out that they are working great with the unions and he hopes that after all that will be done, there will be no tension among the people.
The minister stated his belief that “massive people will go through this assessment and seek the support of the state”.
According to Ivaylo Ivanov, today’s meeting is important so that people and businesses can meet, which will give them the opportunity to find a job in the shortest possible time. Of course, with support if qualification and retraining is needed. The best option is to get from employment to employment and the people who are laid off immediately find a job, said the social minister.
