Actor Heinz Hoenig needs two operations essential to his survival. Now his manager is talking about the current status.
Heinz Hoenig was taken to a Berlin hospital by helicopter last week and had to undergo emergency heart surgery. The doctors then put him in an artificial coma for a few days. The 72-year-old is now conscious again and is waiting for two operations that are essential to his survival. Due to a bacterial infection, he not only needs a new aorta, but also needs surgery on his esophagus.
His manager Birgit Fischer-Höper has now given an update on RTL on the sidelines of the musical premiere “A Little Peace” in Munich – in which Heinz Hoenig was actually supposed to have appeared –: “Heinz is fully conscious and he has to now Wait until his values become more stable again – and then have the first operation.” There is no fixed date for the procedure yet. Heinz Hoenig decided to have the procedure himself; his wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig had him taken out of his coma so that he could weigh up the various treatment options himself.
The problem is: Heinz Hoenig does not have health insurance. That’s why his manager and director Ralph Siegel started a call for donations on “Go Fund Me”, which has raised 152,520 euros as of today (May 10, 12:50 p.m.). The goal of 150,000 euros was thus achieved. Some celebrities also donated to the film star. However, it is not yet known how much the entire treatment will ultimately cost.
