Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had given a statement last week that if Pakistan works honestly, it can leave India behind in the economy. It will leave not only India behind but also its major economies. Shahbaz Sharif gave this statement at a time when Pakistan itself is struggling with poverty. Pakistan is continuously appealing to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to save itself from bankruptcy, but the Pakistani PM is dreaming of competing with India. When Pakistani YouTuber Sana Amjad tried to know the opinion of common people in Pakistan on Shehbaz Sharif’s statement, everyone put her in the class of their own Prime Minister. Abdullah, who studied engineering from Lahore’s Information Technology University (ITU), said, given the condition of Pakistan, it can never leave India behind. Giving the example of his university, Abdullah said that when ITU was formed in 2012, it was said that it would compete with the IITs of India. Till now the main campus of ITU has not been built, whereas in last 10 years India has opened 2 to 3 new IIT campuses. How will we compete with them?
Abdullah said that we are a country which reaches out to America on every issue. At the same time, our neighbor is India, which works only on what is beneficial for it. He held democracy most responsible for India’s development. He said that after independence, the leaders of India adopted a democratic attitude and worked for the development of the country.
Reaching the moon was said to be useless
Regarding Pakistan reaching the moon, he said that today we have sent a mission to the moon and that too with the help of China. We don’t even have the capability to send a satellite, which is considered a normal mission today. On the other side is India, which showed it to the world by landing on the south pole of the Moon. He said that even today Pakistan should accept that nothing has happened to us and even if we do anything from now on, nothing will be wrong, but at least we should stop talking nonsense.
Question raised on Shahbaz’s statement
Babar Ali said, what Shahbaz Sharif Saheb is saying is that if we work hard, we will leave India behind. So have we been doing nothing for 70 years? Only Shahbaz Sharif can tell how he will take India back. However, there are some people in Pakistan who agree with Shehbaz Sharif’s statement. Malik Babar said, yes we can compete with India. He said that the maximum progress that has been made in praising Pakistan has come during the PML-N government.
