BOLZANO. After a long time since they last used it, yesterday (8 May), many Bolzano residents decided to leave the house wearing a mask. There is great fear that the substances released into the atmosphere during the furious fire that devastated an Alpitronic warehousein via di Mezzo ai Piani, could be harmful.

In the meantime, Philipp Senoner, co-founder and CEO of Alpitronic, and his collaborators have already taken action to bring the situation back to normal. If it is true that the fire did not affect a production area of the giant that produces car refills, it is equally true that the damage is very extensive and a lot of work awaits the company’s top management.

«What happened is a shock for everyone – commented Senoner, who worked in close contact with the firefighters yesterday – also because the flames developed very quickly. The damage is really important, but not in the operational part. Inside the structure, in fact, there were neither materials nor machinery and there were no collaborators of ours. Adjacent to the burning warehouse is the building that houses the offices in which, when the alarm went off, between 150 and 200 employees were working. They were all evacuated without any problems.”

The amount of damage has yet to be precisely quantified and it remains to be clarified what started the fire. The insurance companies will be responsible for estimating damages and compensation.
