Heinz Hoenig‘s family is currently collecting donations to finance the actor’s medical treatment. There was criticism in this regard, to which his friend Ralph Siegel is now responding.
Last week, actor Heinz Hoenig had to undergo emergency surgery and has been in intensive care ever since. However, the 72-year-old still needs two more operations that are vital to his survival. The family has to pay for this themselves because the “Das Boot” star does not have health insurance. Since there are no financial resources for the cost-intensive operations, a call for donations was launched, but there was some criticism. Ralph Siegel, Heinz Hoenig’s good friend and manager, now defended him.
When Ralph Siegel found out that Heinz Hoenig did not have health insurance, it made him sad and thoughtful. “Because I ask myself, how is such a situation even possible for such an artist and why is there no state insurance that takes effect in such cases?” criticized the composer on “Bunte”.
He also spoke about the criticism regarding the appeal for donations. Many people couldn’t understand that Heinz Hoenig, who enjoyed great success throughout his career and only left the RTL jungle camp at the beginning of the year with a large fee, has neither reserves nor health insurance. “I know that Heinz paid off his debts with the money he earned in the jungle camp at the beginning of the year,” he stated.
“I know many colleagues who feel the same way as Heinz.”
He further emphasized: “And to the criticism: We have a lot of unemployed actors in Munich. There are so many actors who, especially as they get older, get a lot fewer jobs than before. These people have a lot of problems. I know a lot “Many colleagues who feel the same way as Heinz.”
If you are successful, the problem is that your standard of living automatically increases. “When you get older and your success wanes a little, which is often the case with artists, then it can be that a completely wrong situation arises in life that these people would never have expected,” added Ralph Siegel.
