On the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater in Baku on May 18, the premiere of the play “Night in Catherine’s Bedroom” based on the play by Vladimir Ovsyannikov will take place, the press service of the theater told Day.Az.

The play “Night in Catherine’s Bedroom” tells the story of a girl who finds herself in a difficult situation due to her father’s serious illness and is forced to look for a way out using methods that are far from ethical morals. Dasha, under the weight of these circumstances, is forced to agree to various obscenities that her former classmate offers her. Rich major Artyom, in his zeal to take revenge on Dasha for her once violated pride, is perverted in the desire to humiliate and destroy her.

Artyom’s sick, infringed fantasy, bordering on madness, allows him to ruin people’s destinies easily, without regrets, without thinking about the consequences. It seems that there is no way out, but fortunately, as often happens in life, the world is not without good people, and sometimes fate throws surprises at us in seemingly hopeless situations.

The stage director of the play is Emin Mirabdullayev, the set designer is Honored Cultural Worker of Azerbaijan Alexander Fedorov, the costume designer is Honored Cultural Worker Olga Abbasova, the musical design is Honored Cultural Worker Vladimir Neverov.

People’s artist of Azerbaijan Lyudmila Dukhovnaya, theater artist Yegyana Huseynli, Yaroslav Trifonov, Elshad Murtuzaev, Ilkin Mekhtiev, Ruslan Pavlov, Dzhokhar Abdullayev and Rashad Aliyarov took part in the performance.
