Screenwriter Mieko Osanai (real name Mieko Sasahira), known for the drama “3nen B-Gumi Kinpachi Sensei,” passed away due to old age on the 2nd. She is 94 years old. She is from Yokohama. Her funeral was held by her family.

After working as a scripter in film production, he made his debut as a scriptwriter in 1962 with NHK‘s “The Rest of Happiness.”

He wrote the screenplay for the 3-year B-gumi Kinpachi Sensei (TBS) series, which started in 1979 and starred Tetsuya Takeda, until the middle of the 7th series, which started in 2004. Stories such as “15-Year-Old Mother,” which deals with pregnancy and childbirth among junior high school students, and episodes surrounding the “Rotten Orange Equation,” which eliminates delinquent students, have become hot topics. It took up timely themes such as gender identity disorder and had a great impact on the educational world. The final episode of the first series, in which Toshihiko Tahara and Kaoru Sugita appeared, recorded an audience rating of 39.9% (according to Video Research, Kanto area).

Other works include NHK’s taiga dramas “Tokugawa Ieyasu” and “Tobu ga Gotoku” and the TV drama series “Ma Nee-chan.”
