It’s a full box. Already promoted and champion, Red Star won everything during the National Trophies this Saturday evening during the National Trophies ceremony in Clairefontaine. Competing with Grégory Poirier (Martigues) and Maxime d’Ornano (Rouen), Habib Beye, who announced his departure from Red Star, won the trophy for best coach.
“It’s the recognition of the players in the game and it’s also the satisfaction for my staff and those who support me on a daily basis,” emphasizes Habib Beye. It was a long project of almost three years with the finality of this climb. It’s an individual recognition but there is a huge collective behind it all. When you go up that quickly, it makes an impression. Merwan (Ifnaoui) and Quentin (Beunardeau) had an extraordinary season. These are individual rewards which are pleasing but they flourished thanks to the collective. This is the purpose of our work. I am very grateful for what my players have given me over the past three years.”
Attacking midfielder Merwan Ifnaoui, 3 goals and 7 assists, who was opposed to Antoine Mille (Châteauroux) and Samuel Renel (Niort) was elected best player of the season.
Finally, among the goalkeepers, Quentin Beunardeau, was ahead of Jérémy Aymes (Martigues) and Paul Delecroix (Niort). Beunardeau and Ifnaoui are in the typical team of the season with defender Loïc Kouagba.
The best goal of the season goes to Versailles and its young 20-year-old midfielder Jordan Mendes for his returned scissors in the 90th +3 against Niort (1-1) on March 25.
