(ANSA) – GENOA, MAY 10 – “Since we cannot present a no-confidence vote to President Toti in the Regional Council next Tuesday, because he is suspended from office, we will still put political pressure on him by asking for explanations on what is happening. Already today, however, we are once again asking that Toti resign in light of what is happening. No more disasters that put our Liguria at risk.” The Ligurian secretary of the Democratic Party Davide Natale told ANSA. “There are very important matches at stake in Liguria.” At the controls today is vice-president Alessandro Piana: “Liguria – continues Natale – is the black mark among the Italian regions for the expenditure of resources for rural development and coincidentally these depend on Piana and his department. I would say that this is enough given to understand how he can lead the Region”. Piana’s reply was immediate: “I remind the Democratic Party that the choice is not mine, but was made by the Genoa Prosecutor’s Office. I would recommend going beyond the chant already heard, the classic election campaign chant. But I do not invite the opposition to collaborate with us because if he did, given our excellent results, it would increase consensus and I don’t want to give him this advice.” (HANDLE).
