The mayor of Al-Jamil Municipality, Fathi Al-Hamrouni, reported that they were communicating with the state, “represented by the head of the Western Military Region,” in addition to holding consultations with notables from neighboring regions, during which they received promises to find a radical solution to the crisis, according to him.
Al-Hamrouni added, in an intervention with Al-Ahrar, that they agreed to the mediators’ request to suspend the sit-in, and that they would temporarily lift it in line with the promises they had received.
Al-Hamrouni confirmed that classes will resume next Saturday, with the possibility of resuspension if tensions return to the city.
Commenting on the Attorney General’s discussions, the Brigadier General explained that those affected by the skirmishes will file reports at police stations to be transferred to the prosecution afterward.
During his meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality, the Director of Gemayel Security, and city notables, Public Prosecutor Al-Siddiq Al-Sour stressed the necessity of prosecuting those involved in the Gemayel events and establishing the rule of law in the city.

Deputy Chief of Staff Salah Al-Namroush arrived in Al-Jamil and held a large meeting with the notables to discuss developments in the situation after the clashes that the city witnessed.
This coincides with the deployment of its members by the Security Directorates Support Force, and its announcement of taking over the task of securing it, after its entry as a conflict resolution force. Based on the agreement of notables in the city of Al-Jameel.
