/ Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp admitted that he did something that he had not done throughout his coaching career, after he asked the team’s star Mohamed Salah to stop defending in a match yesterday, Thursday, against Sparta Prague.

Salah led Liverpool to advance to the quarter-finals of the European League (Europa League), after scoring one goal and assisting three other goals for his teammates, during the team’s sweeping 6-1 victory over its guest, Sparta Prague, the Czech Republic, yesterday, Thursday, in the second leg of the round of 16 of the continental competition.

Perhaps the German coach did not expect that he would have to have Salah participate for the entire duration of the match, after he had been cautious about his return in recent weeks, given the recent injury he suffered.

The 56-year-old coach was unable to withdraw his star Salah from the match due to precautionary substitutions he made during the match, which put Klopp in a difficult situation, leading him to ask Salah not to play hard.

Klopp said in statements reported by “Mirror”: “Salah is an experienced player. I asked him to stop defending, and this is the first time I have asked a player to do that.”
