Yangpyeong-gun re-announces the public recruitment of candidate sites for the construction of a comprehensive burial facility. Yangpyeong-gun (Governor Jeon Jeon-seon) re-announces the recruitment of candidate sites for the construction of a comprehensive burial facility from June 1 to September 30.
The county announced that it had publicly recruited candidate sites for the construction of a comprehensive burial facility from February 1 to April 30, but had closed the application process without any villages applying, and thus decided to re-announce the open recruitment through discussions with the public burial facility construction promotion committee.
Previously, the county signed a business agreement with Gwacheon City to reduce the budget, including business and operating costs, when building a general funeral facility, and to expand funeral welfare facilities for the end of the life cycle of Yangpyeong County residents, cremation facilities, enshrinement halls, natural burial sites, and funeral halls are being built. The project has been promoted with the goal of opening a well-equipped comprehensive burial facility in 2030.
A village wishing to host a business facility must obtain the consent of more than 60% of the total number of household heads on resident registration along with an application form and submit it to the Yangpyeong-gun Office’s Elderly and Disabled Persons and Business Facilities Team. At the request of the village, the county will simultaneously hold a resident briefing session to help residents understand and benchmark excellent business facilities.
Areas hosting general business facilities will receive funding support projects within KRW 6 billion, entrusted operation of auxiliary facilities such as cafes and restaurants, and priority hiring of residents when hiring workers. In addition, surrounding areas within 1 km from the boundary of the general funeral facility installation site outside of the host area are provided with a fund support project of up to 6 billion won and exemption from cremation fees. A fund support project of up to 3 billion won will be promoted in the relevant town or village.
This fund support project can be broadly reviewed, including not only village joint projects but also household-specific support, and will be confirmed after collecting residents’ opinions when enacting ordinances for the establishment and operation of the resident support fund in the future.
The county plans to finalize the construction site in January 2025 after comprehensively considering the social, geographical, and economic requirements of the candidate site and going through the document review, feasibility study service, and on-site review by the Yangpyeong-gun General Funeral Facility Construction Promotion Committee.
