Exploration Block No. 7 was transferred to CNOOC. This plot extends across the governorates of the Diwaniyah Strip, Babel, Najaf al-Ashraf, Wasit, and Muthanna, and near the Gharraf and Nasiriyah fields. Its area is 6,300 square kilometers, and there are no wells there.
The Sumer exploration block in Muthanna Governorate was transferred to Sinopec. Its area is about 1,773 square kilometers. The main reservoirs are the Omar River, Al-Zubair, Al-Yamamah, and Al-Najma, where a two-dimensional seismic survey was conducted and the results showed the presence of 3 installations and valves, and there are no drilled wells.
– Abu Khaimah oil field in Muthanna Governorate was transferred to the Chinese Zhenhua Company. It is located near the Iraqi-Saudi border. The field has one well with a depth of up to the Najma Formation. The field was discovered in 1975 by drilling the well above. The area of the field is 1,809 square kilometers.
Al-Dhafriya field in Wasit Governorate was transferred to the Chinese Anten Oil Company. The area of the field is 368 square kilometers, two wells were drilled, and it contains oil storage.
