During this conference, organized by the CSPJ, the presidency of the public prosecutor’s office and the Court of Auditors under the theme “Moralization of public life: multiple approaches”, the speakers called for the need to initiate a public debate on the role of the various constitutional institutions in the consolidation of the principles of judicial ethics and the strengthening of the legal and human rights skills of magistrates and the institutions concerned.
On this occasion, the participants reviewed the roles of the different constitutional institutions responsible for preserving the authority of the judicial power, respecting the ethics of judicial action, correctly applying the rules of judicial procedure, protecting the rights of litigants and to ensure the independence of magistrates.
In this context, Mohamed Zaoug, member of the CSPJ, stressed that promoting the moralization of justice is a collective responsibility incumbent on all the institutions concerned, including the family, the school and the various authorities concerned.
He also emphasized the importance of moralizing justice to ensure the expected economic and social development, given the proven link between the values of integrity and probity and the fight against all forms of corruption.
In an intervention on ”The strategy of the Superior Council of the Judiciary in terms of moralization”, the president of the Committee of Ethics and Support for the Independence of Magistrates at the CSPJ, Abdellatif Tahar, affirmed that the Constitution created a set of institutions invested with a control mission with the aim of moralizing public life and fighting against all forms of corruption.
For his part, Jalal El Adouzi, from the General Inspectorate of Judicial Affairs, discussed the fundamental principles governing the judicial profession, such as independence and integrity, emphasizing the role of this inspection in matters of management of control of the judicial institution at the central and decentralized level.
For his part, the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, Saleh Tizari, highlighted the role of the public prosecutor in the moralization of justice through the reception of all files and complaints, noting that the organic law of the CSPJ stipulates the publication of the names of magistrates subject to disciplinary sanctions, in addition to the fact that the public prosecutor’s office examines all complaints and claims with complete impartiality.
The CSPJ is participating in the 29th edition of SIEL through the organization of nine conferences and communication meetings, as well as the presentation of the main publications of the Council and its attributions, activities and achievements.
