Gapyeong-gun is taking the lead, starting with public officials, to create a clean Gapyeong. “Our public officials will take the lead in creating a clean and fair Gapyeong-gun.” Gapyeong-gun (Governor Seo Tae-won) is drawing attention as he is doing his best to create a clean and fair Gapyeong-gun, such as promoting research services and holding meetings with institutions and groups.
According to the military on the 14th, in order to take the lead in creating a corruption-free and clean Gapyeong, starting with public officials, ‘corruption-vulnerable areas analysis and improvement plan research service’ will be promoted until June 28th. Through this, areas vulnerable to corruption are analyzed for all departments of the county office and improvement measures are prepared. In addition, we plan to strengthen integrity education by conducting a survey on the perceived integrity of external business stakeholders and analyzing the results.
We are also actively promoting meetings with institutions and groups to improve integrity. From last April to the 31st of this month, the military is listening to the difficulties faced by stakeholders in matters such as licenses, permits, and contracts through weekly meetings held by the county governor and meetings hosted by department heads, and is listening to various suggestions and opinions to improve integrity.
In particular, on the 10th, the military held a collaboration meeting with the Korea Land and Infrastructure Corporation under the theme of ‘Creating an honest Gapyeong of trust and fairness’ and discussed ways to prevent corruption. At the meeting on this day, cases of violations such as providing and requesting money or entertainment were shared and opinions on improvement measures were exchanged. Subsequently, the military and public corporation jointly established the goal of ‘Towards a Clean Gapyeong’ and strengthened their will to strengthen the practice of integrity.
The military is also producing an integrity sympathy video for employees under the theme of ‘Integrity I Think About’ until July 31st. The military plans to increase voluntary participation by producing a new type of integrity video content that is different from existing ones from the employees’ perspective.
County Governor Seo Tae-won said, “We are taking the lead from our public officials and seeking various measures to prevent corruption and create a clean Gapyeong-gun.” He added, “Through continuous education, meetings, and research services, etc., it is not a one-time event, but in the course of daily work.” “We will do our best to create ‘Gapyeong, a place of trust, fairness, integrity,’” he said.
