The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported on the sentence of 26 years and 8 months for Álvaro Jeovanni Escobar Ascencio, because the latter raped a minor for two years, in Santa Ana.

“The Attorney General’s Office managed to get Álvaro Jeovanni Escobar Ascencio sentenced to 26 years and eight months in prison for having raped a minor for two years. The events were committed in Santa Ana,” said the FGR.

The abuse began in 2019 and culminated in 2021. Ascencio attacked the minor when her mother went out to work and the accused had threatened to kill her and her mother if she told anything.

Due to the above, in 2022, the victim showed suicidal behavior and injured his body and in September of that same year, he was able to tell another person everything he had suffered.

“The accused was charged with the crime of rape of a minor and incapacitated child in a continuous manner, and the evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office was compelling to obtain a favorable ruling,” said the FGR.
