According to one of the organizers of this forum, the head of the National Electrical Engineering Business Association (NETA), Gedimins Abartis, for this reason, companies should already be implementing sustainable and innovative renewable energy solutions that would allow more efficient use of energy both in industry and in buildings.

“Renewable energy faces a number of challenges. It is not enough to just put a solar power plant on the roof or on the ground. In order to achieve the goals of electricity production and efficient use, the business should choose solutions that allow storing the already produced electricity so that it can be used for its own purposes later. In addition, statistics show that about 30 percent the energy used in buildings is wasted, so it is worth considering the installation of increasingly affordable, automatic building management systems (BMS). The latter allow to reduce the losses of energy used for buildings”, says G. Abartis.

According to the head of NETA, for a long time, BMS required extremely large investments, so integrated digital controls for the building’s heating, ventilation, and lighting devices were usually installed only in large commercial buildings. However, in recent years, new technologies have emerged to automate building management at lower costs. It became available to administrators of both old and small buildings.

A sustainable and smart solution for a higher quality of life

One of such possible solutions that allows efficient energy consumption and raising buildings to a higher level of comfort is the JUNG KNX intelligent system. Presenting it to the visitors of the “Balttechnika 2024” exhibition, Artūras Kriukovas, Head of the Technical Department of the Switch and Smart Home Systems Center “JUNG Vilnius”, says that this system of electrical and engineering devices operating in a synergistic manner in the building allows to optimize usage costs and save energy resources.

“Once this system is installed, various devices automatically take care of the building by ‘communicating’ and ‘cooperating’ with each other. For example, when a window is opened, the heating is automatically turned off at the same moment, thus saving heat energy, and as soon as you enter the room, the curtains open, letting in natural light. This means that the devices only work when needed and exactly as the owners of the premises want. This saves energy and reduces the carbon footprint created by the building”, emphasizes A. Kriukova.

A. Kriukova will present these and other smart building solutions, specific system functionalities and examples of energy efficiency at the specialized conference “Future Energy in the Baltic States 2024” during the exhibition. One day of this forum will be devoted to building management technologies.

The conference is an opportunity for new partnerships

The uniqueness of this year’s “Balttechnika 2024” exhibition: attention to various specialized events, which will discuss trends in the engineering industry, and equipment manufacturers, technology users and service providers will be able to meet in one place and discover potential opportunities for new projects or partnerships.

The specialized exhibition-conference “Future Energy in the Baltic States 2024” will be attended by manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers and solution developers of solar and traditional energy, building management and engineering systems from the European Union and the Baltic States.

During the three days of the conference, they will discuss technological innovations in solar energy: photovoltaic panels, batteries and storage systems, charging stations for electric cars, e-mobility solutions. Building management technologies will also be presented here – electrical system management and energy efficiency of buildings, artificial intelligence (AI) and BMS solutions. The conference will also delve into sustainability in industry: energy and production efficiency, product life cycle assessments and environmental declarations.
