BOLZANO. HCB Alto Adige Alperia officially announces that it has reached an agreement for the renewal of the head coach’s contract Glen Hanlon for another year. He will be there to support the Canadian coach once again Fabio Armaniwho is promoted to the role of associated coach.

Glen Hanlon is certainly a prominent name in the international hockey scene. Former goalkeeper, between the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 90s he collected 512 NHL appearances cwith the shirts of the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings. Then a long and brilliant career as a coach, during which he managed to coach teams of the caliber of Washington Capitals (NHL), Jokerit (Liiga), Dynamo Minsk (KHL), Krefeld Pinguine (DEL), but also national teams such as Switzerland, Slovakia and Belarus. In November 2021 he landed in the ICEHL for the first time, on the Znojmo bench, then the signing in Bolzano on 8 May 2022: in the South Tyrolean capital he immediately confirmed himself as a coach with great experience, capable of managing the dressing room and communicating effectively with all the players.

The extraordinary ride of the 2022/23 season, which stopped at game 7 of the final, it’s also thanks to him. Last year he was able to take back the reins of the team at the end of September, bringing the red and whites into the Top Six and then up to game 7 of the semi-finals.
