The Minister of Oil announces the completion of the fifth and sixth complementary licensing rounds

Today, Monday, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced the completion of the fifth complementary and sixth licensing round.

Abdul Ghani said in a speech during the announcement of the completion of the fifth supplementary and sixth licensing round, and was attended by the (INA) correspondent: “We thank all the efforts that were made for the success of the fifth supplementary and sixth licensing round, which are considered important,” noting that “the number of plots and fields included In the two rounds, there are 29 exploratory plots distributed among 12 governorates in Iraq.

He added that “it was promoted more than 6 months ago,” noting that “many workshops were conducted and staff from the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Department were sent outside Iraq more than once with the aim of promoting these two rounds and encouraging companies to participate in them.”

He continued, “Information bags have been prepared for these two rounds,” noting that “the efforts made by the Contracts and Licensing Department and other supporting departments were very great.”

He stressed that “willing companies were allowed to purchase information bags,” pointing out that “the number of companies that purchased these bags is 22 companies, which is a large number for specialized companies.”
