Meeting in Rabat of the Executive Committee of the Association of Correctional Services of Africa

For two days, representatives of African States members of the Executive Committee will review the various activities of ASCA and discuss the challenges facing the governance of the prison sector.

This meeting, which is attended by several representatives of African member states of the Association, including Senegal, Ghana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Botswana and the Central African Republic, takes place after the election, last May in Dakar, of the Executive Committee during the work of the 6th biennial conference of the Association, the Presidency of which was entrusted to Senegal.

The vice-presidents, representatives of the five regions of Africa were also elected during this conference, including Morocco as vice-president of the ASCA, representative of North Africa.

The Correctional Services Association of Africa aims to raise issues relating to the management of correctional facilities in African States with the mission of promoting cooperation, interaction and exchange of knowledge of its Member States in order to improve and to strengthen the role of prison services in the countries of the Continent.
