In 2019 the adoptive parents of a six-year-old girl, named Paisley Schultis, contacted local authorities in Cayoga Heights, New York, and reported that their daughter had disappeared. For about two years they searched for the little one, when the police believed that those responsible for her disappearance were her biological parents, who had lost custody of her. Recently, when the searches had almost said desperate – her feet popped through the door of the couple’s house and the truth behind the affair was revealed. Watch the CBS Channel report:

Paisley’s biological parents, 33-year-old Kimbeli Cooper and 32-year-old Kirk Shultis, have been the main suspects throughout her years of disappearance. Several searches were conducted at the home of the Shultis family, as well as at the home where her grandfather lived, but to no avail. An anonymous text message received at the local police station led the officers back to her grandfather’s house on her father’s side, where the mystery was finally solved.

During a search last Monday, one of the officers who illuminated his path using a torch spotted a small piece of blanket through a crack in the staircase. “Detectives used tools they found to remove some wooden planks beneath them were ‘a pair of tiny legs’ that belonged to Faisley,” local police said.

In the small room under the wooden planks were found Faisley and Emma Kimbali, depicted as wet posters. The police said that the girl was in good health, but was taken to the hospital for comprehensive tests. In addition, her mother was arrested by police and charged with disorderly conduct during detention and risking the best interests of the child. Apart from her, the two men who were at home were also charged with serious interference with custody, kidnapping and risking the best interests of the child.
