Puttalam police have arrested another monk who wrote the exam using a fake national identity card for a monk of a temple in the Weligama-Kokmaduwa area during the ongoing advanced level examinations.
Police said that the monk was arrested yesterday (15) at the examination hall of St. Mary’s Tamil Vidyalaya in Puttalam.
At the relevant examination center, on the 4th day, the Bhikkhu passed the GCE A / L examination yesterday. Suspicious while writing the Sinhala-Part 2 examination of the Advanced Level Examination, he was taken into the custody of the examination center officer and later handed over to the police.
Police said that the monk arrested was Beli Atta, a resident of Isurupura area.
The arrested monk is to be produced before the Puttalam Magistrate’s Court today and the police are conducting further investigations.
