Russia remains in ninth place in the medal standings of the Olympics

According to the results of the 12th day of competition, Russia is in ninth place in the unofficial medal standings of the Beijing Olympics. Today, February 16, Russian athletes won four medals.

Freestyler Ilya Burov won a bronze medal in ski acrobatics. Skiers Alexander Bolshunov and Alexander Terentiev took bronze medals in the team sprint.

Skiers Yuliya Stupak and Natalya Nepryaeva won the bronze medal in the team sprint. Irina Kazakevich, Kristina Reztsova, Svetlana Mironova and Uliana Nigmatullina won silver medals in the biathlon relay.

At the moment, the leaders of the medal standings are:

  • Norway – 13 gold medals, 7 silver, 8 bronze;
  • Germany – 10 gold, 6 silver, 4 bronze;
  • USA – 8 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze;
  • China – 7 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze;
  • Austria – 6 gold, 7 silver, 4 bronze.

The Russian team has 24 medals so far: 4 gold, 8 silver and 12 bronze.
