The State Youngsters’s Philharmonic, with the help of the Ministry of Tradition of Azerbaijan, held a live performance devoted to the ninety fifth anniversary of the start of the outstanding composer, individuals’s artist, holder of the Shohrat Order, professor Ogtay Zulfugarov (1929-2016), Day.Az stories.
On the opening of the night, the composer’s shut pal, academician Vidadi Khalilov, shared his reminiscences and spoke concerning the life and work of Ogtay Zulfugarov, who made a terrific contribution to the event of nationwide tradition.
On the night with the participation of the “Şəms” choir and the “Güləbətin” vocal ensemble of the youngsters’s philharmonic society, compositions by Ogtay Zulfugarov had been carried out. Ogtay Zulfugarov was born in Baku on Could 31, 1929. In 1958 he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (now the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli), the place he studied on the composition division, being a pupil of the good Gar Garayev. Ogtay Zulfugarov devoted most of his inventive exercise to creating works for kids. The works written by the composer in numerous genres received the love of listeners. He’s the writer of two symphonies, live shows for cello, flute and symphony orchestra, the overture “Şənlən, mənim xalqım” (Rejoice, my individuals!), the fairy story opera “Pişik və sərçə” (The Cat and the Sparrow), the youngsters’s ballet “Sehrli alma” ( Magic Apple), string quartet, piano trio, songs and romances, which occupy a major place within the historical past of musical tradition of Azerbaijan. The songs written by the composer “Telefon”, “Qatar” (Prepare), “Ovçu” (Hunter), “Kim sevirsə idmanı?” (Who Loves Sports activities?) and different works are cherished by listeners of various generations.
For about 20 years, Ogtay Zulfugarov was the inventive director of the State Youngsters’s Philharmonic.
