Ilaiyaraaja is the reigning king of music. His music has fans all over the world. Ilayaraja’s brother Gangai Amaran has emerged as a multi – talented artist in the Tamil film industry. He excelled as an actor, songwriter, singer and director.
Ilayaraja composed most of the films directed by Gangai Amaran. Known as the Pavalar Brothers, they were a hit. There were also occasional minor disagreements between them. Gangai Amaran had openly stated this even in an interview.
The reason for the big rift between the two is the film Chinnaramasamy Periyaramasamy itself. It is said that there was a problem between the two during the making of the film. The two never talk again. Never met at family events.
