Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates receives Pakistan’s second highest civilian award
President Arif Alvi presented Bill Gates with the ‘Hilal-e-Pakistan’ award, Pakistan’s second highest civilian award, for his outstanding contribution to polio eradication.
Prime Minister Imran Khan hosted a luncheon for Bill Gates, who is visiting Pakistan for the first time. Speaking afterwards, Bill Gates said that Pakistan and its neighbor Afghanistan are the two major countries in the world where polio is spread. He said he hoped that polio eradication would be possible in the coming years due to the ongoing measures being taken in these countries.
