Dedi Dalal was already preparing to go to bed about two months ago, when a phone call disturbed his peace. It turns out that on the other side of Dedi Dalal’s line, the director of development and marketing of the International Bridal Fashion House – Ricky Dalal ‘from Ashdod, were Channel 12’s dancers with stars. Dedi Dalal recounts the request: “I was told that they were talking about the production of Dancing with the Stars. At first I thought someone was just kidding. But then they made it clear to me that they came to me through their stylists and they recommend our designs, and that they want to make an appointment. history”.
When he says history, he means the fact that his mother’s fashion house – ‘International Bridal Fashion House – Ricky Dalal’, will dress all the dancers throughout the season that opened on Sunday on the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ program. A fact that is accompanied by a lot of respect, but there is a lot of work in it because every week the demand varies according to the needs and the remaining candidates. For those who forgot, we will mention that the designer Riki Dalal is a name that has become international and known not only in Israel but in many countries and has become a household name in the fashion world. Dalal was the one who designed Neta Barzilai’s dress in the Eurovision semi-final. So the referral was made based on the amazing work of the designer from Ashdod.
In the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, which opened as mentioned in the first, the list of participants is especially attractive and consists of real stars – Adi Ashkenazi, Yael Bar Zohar, Yuval Segal, Eli Ildis, Maayan Adam, Rotem Cohen, Bar Sommer, Moshe Ashkenazi, Sandy Bar, Omer Dror, Ural Sabri, Estella, Eden Pines, Liran Danino, Alex Shtilov and Idit Matot. But Dalal’s big international change was a few years ago when an American blogger was exposed to her designs. The blogger shared her followers on the special Israeli designer she came across by chance, incidentally which led to the collapse of Dalal’s website due to multiple visits. From here it was clear that she was going to be a fashion powerhouse and that is indeed what happened. After the incident, Ricky’s son, Dadi Dalal, decided to take the business with both hands and helped her leverage the momentum. She left the small room in Ashdod, and set up a studio in the city, which was also accompanied by flagship stores in London and San Francisco. Ricky Dalal has become one of the most respected designers in the country. Ricky Dalal: “It’s a challenging job. We’re still working on it every week. The job is until the end of the season of Dancing with the Stars. It’s a challenging job and hard because it’s every week, but it’s fun. It’s not something routine.”
How is this different from a routine?
“Routine is the brides. Here you come across other people. People you unknowingly would have encountered face to face, talking to them, designing for them something that suits them.”
And how do you feel about being chosen?
“Anyone who knows me knows I’m one of not making a story or an interest out of it. I’m doing my job and that’s it.

How do you choose what to design for each and every one and more every week?
“It also depends on the production, that they give us direction to what they want and it depends on the dancers and the dance. I do not do what I want. They ask for a style that suits some dance and then we design the garment accordingly.”
So from last Sunday the stars will dance, but the dresses that sparkle and the clothes that will heat an entire country, came out of Ashdod from Ricky Dalal’s fashion house. She does not have to dance to get the title – star. She’s already like that.
