DIP interrogates fighters whether Zakaria Zabeidi was beaten while captured – Datili News Site

The Police Investigations Department (DIP) began investigating a complaint against IDF fighters who arrested the terrorist Zakaria Zbeidi after he escaped from prison last New Year’s Eve and his lawyer claims he was beaten.

After an extensive five-day manhunt, he was located by police fighters in a truck parking lot in Umm al-Ghanem hiding with another inmate under a wagon.

After his arrest, pictures of Zabeidi with a swollen face were published, and his lawyer Avigdor Feldman demanded that he be evacuated for medical treatment and promised to file a complaint against the fighters in the DIP.

According to the attorney, the IDF fighters caused an injury to Zabeidi’s head during his arrest.

“In the circumstances in which Zabeidi was perceived, it was clear that this was an injury that was the result of resistance and the arrest of a terrorist who could be armed and dangerous to the police officers who acted,” a senior law enforcement official explained.
