New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry is to inquire into the background of Ilker Aizi, a Turkish national who has been appointed CEO of Air India.
Tata Group has recently acquired Air India. The new CEO and Managing Director of the company is Ilkar Aisi from Turkey, who has served as an adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the mayor of Istanbul, and the chairman of ‘Turkey Airlines’. It is customary to fully investigate.
‘Proper information on the appointment of Ilgar Aizi, from the Tata Group or the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has not yet reached the Home Ministry. Once that is obtained, the Foreign Ministry, with the help of intelligence agencies, will begin an investigation into his background, Interior Ministry officials said.
