Thiruvananthapuram: After two years, the functioning of schools in the state has returned to normal. From today, the class will include all children until the evening. Students were welcomed in many schools with the impression of an entrance ceremony.

Forty-seven lakh children will be enrolled in schools from today, the education department said. Classes are run with extreme caution. The Department of Education has issued instructions to schools in this regard. Classes will be held in the open. The children’s seats are arranged keeping in mind the social distance.

Uniforms and attendance are not mandatory. It is suggested that CBSE schools should also be kept open. Online learning will continue for children who have difficulty accessing schools. Classes for students in grades one through nine will be available through March. The annual examination will be held in April. Classes 10,12 will be completed by the end of this month. The model test will be conducted after giving time for revision.

About 38 lakh students in classes one to ten, seven and a half lakh students in the higher secondary section and sixty six thousand students in the vocational higher secondary section will be attending schools on Monday.

The schools are fully operational with the coordination of the Departments of Public Education, Health, Transport, Local Government and Home. CBSE schools and ICSE schools in the state will operate as per government norms.
