The manufacturer of Final Fantasy XIV Online Naoki Yoshida ha dichiarato che the game will be supported for the next ten years, with updates relating to both the multiplayer part and that of the main story. Yoshida is currently working on Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5, offline title of the main series, but he has assured that he will not abandon the FFXIV project since, in fact, it will be supported for a long time to come.
Yoshida also revealed details of the graphics patch that will soon be made available for download. This is the first true graphic update for the game, and it will bring with it high resolution textures, better light and shadow effects, better material effects. The differences with the current version were shown in a series of shots.
