The attack was carried out by a group of assailants who arrived in two bikes. Sahojaran Suran was also hacked while trying to stop the violence against Haridas.
One week ago, there was a CPM-RSS clash in the area. The CPM accused the RSS of being behind the killings. More polavis have been deployed for security in the area where the violence took place.

RSS murder should be put down: DYFI
The DYFI State Secretariat said in a statement that the killing of Haridas, a CPI (M) activist in Punnol, Thalassery, by RSS criminals was highly reprehensible and reprehensible. The DYFI state secretariat said in a statement that BJP-RSS activists should be prepared to lay down their arms as it would disrupt the peace in the country.
