Washington, Feb. 21–

The White House has said that US President Joe Biden has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a sudden turn of events in Ukraine.

Russia has amassed about 10 million troops on its border with Ukraine in protest of former Soviet Union Ukraine joining NATO.

The United States and European countries have repeatedly warned that Russia could infiltrate Ukraine at any time.

But Russia, which has been pretending to have no plans to invade Ukraine, is continuing its war games with Belarusian forces. The United States and NATO have rejected Russia’s request not to include Ukraine in NATO. Due to this the conflict is currently at its peak.

As of now, Russian military forces are heavily concentrated on the Ukrainian border, ready to launch an offensive in Ukraine.

In the wake of reports that the army fired artillery shells at separatist-held areas in eastern Ukraine last Friday, separatists have now begun to retaliate.

This is followed by fierce fighting between the two sides. The Ukrainian military says two soldiers have been killed in a separatist artillery attack targeting Ukrainian soldiers.

1000 bombs exploded

More than 1,000 bombs exploded in eastern Ukraine, where the conflict is taking place, beginning Saturday night and ending early yesterday.

In this case, it is not too late, and Biden has called on Russia to end the war and allow President Putin to negotiate peace.

Following this, US President Joe Biden has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Ukraine issue, according to a White House statement. Will be meeting him soon and consulting.

Peace talks

According to the report,

Foreign Minister Lavrov and Secretary-General Blingen are due to travel to Europe this week to discuss the Ukraine issue. It will be followed by a meeting of the two leaders.

But for this meeting to take place, Russia must agree to avoid war on Ukraine. Apart from this, if Russia starts a war, it will face severe repercussions. The United States has always been ready for peace talks.

Thus it is stated.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron had a two-day telephone conversation with Putin on the Ukraine issue. In that consultation he called for peace talks.

He also held talks with US President Biden. In this context, the meeting of the two leaders is likely to take place as a result of his efforts.

In this context, the Indian Embassy has again advised students and citizens to return home in the wake of the tense situation in Ukraine.
