New health care system for foreign workers

by time news

A new health care system has been established for foreign workers.

Companies that hire foreign workers will find it helpful to deal with higher medical costs.

For employees who live in hostels or work in the construction, shipyard, and refurbishment sectors, employers are required to purchase basic maintenance plans from next April.

Human Resources Minister Dan Chee Leng said it would ensure that the basic health care needs of employees are taken care of at a fixed fee.

The Minister attended the opening ceremony of the St Andrew’s Overseas Staff Medical Center.

In addition, there are 6 clinics under the new Basic Health Care System.
