Pujara, Raghane difficult to return to India – Sunil Gavaskar

by time news

Pujara and Raghane were dropped from the Test series against Sri Lanka. Both were dropped by the selectors for revealing a poor game in the South African series. Pujara’s last 16 Test average is 27.93. 7 scored only half a century. Raghanew averaged 20.25 in 15 games. This includes 3 half cents.

Gavaskar, a former captain and television commentator, said it would be difficult for Pujara and Raghane to return to the Indian team. In this connection he said: –

It is expected that Raghane and Pujara will be dropped from the Test squad. The situation would have been different if Centurion had scored 80 or 90 runs in the South African series.

Raghane pulls out better in a Test. But it does not run enough. The team expected more runs from him.

The selectors have advised both of them to play in the Ranji Trophy. Despite playing well in the Ranji Trophy, they will not be able to re-enter the Indian team.

200 to 250 runs can enter the team. But now India are playing only one Test against England after the series against Sri Lanka. Then comes the World Cup.

The test will be held after November-December. Then they will touch the age of 35. It will be difficult for Pujara and Raghane to return to the team as they need to give young players a chance.

Thus says Gavaskar.

Pujara has scored 6713 runs in 95 Tests. The average is 43.87. He scored 18 percent and 32 half-centuries. He has amassed a maximum of 206 runs.

Raghane has scored 4931 runs in 82 Tests. The average is 38.52. He has scored 12 percent and 25 half-centuries. He has amassed a maximum of 188 runs.
