It says that V. Šleinota was born in Kružiūnai village, Alytus district. Studied at Punia secondary school. 1969-1974 graduated from Vilnius State University Faculty of Industrial Economics, later worked at the Panevėžys Furniture Factory, the Panevėžys Road Construction Repair Board, the Panevėžys Auto Compressor Factory, and in 1987-1990 became the director of the Lietkabel factory.
