jpnn.com – Baidu introduced an update to its artificial intelligence model, Ernie 4.0 Turbo.

Ernie 4.0 Turbo is a new version of Ernie 4, which was launched in October 2023 to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4.

The Economic Times on Friday (28/6) quoted a Reuters broadcast which stated that Baidu’s Head of Technology Wang Haifeng said that Ernie 4.0 Turbo can be accessed publicly via Baidu’s website or application interface.

He also said that the development team could integrate this technology with Qianfan, Baidu’s artificial intelligence (AI) platform.

Wang said Ernie has reached 300 million users since launch.

Baidu also announced an update to their AI ecosystem, PaddlePaddle, which has supported 14.65 million developers and served 370 thousand companies and institutions.

OpenAI plans to block access to its APIs from China starting July 9, 2024.

The decision has implications for Chinese startups that use OpenAI technology.
